A friend recently pointed out a great essay written in the Globe and Mail last week. The title is “Up to my ears in old people“.
It’s a wonderful article about John Dixon’s journey coping with his hearing loss. It expresses some real frustration with older hearing aids and, as it seems to me, he is well fit with new ones and chronicles the experience.
Part of this article shows the difference in technology and how modern hearing aids are working better than older models. But I wonder about the care and follow-up that is missing from his original experience. Are the hearing aids that much better, or did he go to a new clinic that focused on care rather than hearing aid sales?
Check out the article, it is well written and makes you laugh.
